After significantly contributing to KAIST’s brand development, Prof. Suk and Dr. Kim have generously decided to donate their design license fees to the KAIST Foundation. They played a pivotal role in crafting a distinctive brand culture for KAIST, including creating NUBZUKI(넙죽이), the university’s mascot. Their designs have been commercialized by the souvenir shop since Fall 2022, marking the beginning of a highly successful brand business in 2023. This success is largely attributed to their creative contributions. Recognizing the importance of nurturing the university’s brand value, both Prof. Suk and Dr. Kim have agreed to donate the proceeds from their licensing fees to the KAIST Foundation. The brand business continues to thrive and expand, with expectations of increased donations in 2024. KAIST has acknowledged their generous act of donation on its portal.
