Like in ZOOM, what if many faces in diverse lightings enter into one scene? Color issues investigated by Yuchun


Yuchun published an article entitled “Affective Effect of Multi-source Portraits Under Various Illuminants on One Scene” in the Journal of Imaging Science and Technology (JIST).  This study intends to identify the affective effect of our viewing multiple portraits whose white balance is not aligned. Through both quantitative evaluation and qualitative writing tasks, the study revealed that a match of neutrally balanced portraits best appealed authentic and professional styles while minimizing any affective bias. When matches consisted of contrasting tones, on the other hand, they delivered content conveyance better while sacrificing the naturalness of portraits.
